Bunker P-24 with Art_II_2010

another one. now pimped with rebars, which i made afterwards. not enough time in the lecture again.
anyway. the rebars are now 5 sided but could easily made 4 sided without much loss of shading.

3 sided is difficult when you do not bake it..well i dont even know if you could bake a round cylinder flawless onto a 3 sided cylinder to fake its roundness. it should be no problem but i remember some difficulties when trying this ages ago.

also this prop screams for debris and broken concrete parts dangling on the rebars. the destruction comes not very believable without that.

  1. Hi there Sascha.
    Again awesome work.
I'm really into prop/asset making, but how's your workflow?
I'm still trying to define my workflow to easy and fast produce props and assets to put into my UDK scenes.
Could you release some sort of tutorial on how you do it?
I saw an earlier production where you talked about NOT using xNormals. Do you use meshlab? I'm really curious cause atm my current workflow is holding me back I feel.

    Much regards from Norway again.

  2. thank you. i absolutely use xnormal. and i think it's time to go for a new tut. the last one is long ago. but those are very time consuming and it's not prio 1, so i fear it still has to wait some time.
meanwhile i can recommend this site http://cg.tutsplus.com/ go and check out some tuts there you will find some "how to bake" stuff there
    greets
